Our Story is in What We Build Together.

Mid-States Construction was founded in 1975 by three partners, including Don Shaum Sr. Originally built around concrete and steel erection for manufacturing plants, the company thrived by delivering performance-driven builds to industry clients. By the early 1990s, Don Sr. had taken full ownership, placing himself squarely in the field—working shoulder-to-shoulder with crews and reinforcing a reputation grounded in hard work and integrity.

Today, Mid-States merges that legacy with modern capability. With in-house design and engineering, site development, concrete foundation expertise, and deep steel erection experience, the company delivers commercial, retail, medical, and one-of-a-kind projects engineered for precision, reliability, and lasting value.
